Focus on paediatric and adolescent varicocoele: a single institution experience

Summary The aim of this study was to report our long-term diagnostic and surgical outcome during the last 18 years, in paediatric and adolescent management of varicocoele. The present retrospective study enrols 374 patients observed at our institution between 1994 and 2011. Patients were divided into three groups: Group A includes 142 youngsters and adolescents treated with open surgery for left varicocoele, in which a pre-operative CDUS was not performed; Group B includes 65 patients treated with open surgery in which a pre-operative CDUS evaluation was carried out, to assess varicocoele haemodynamic pattern and testicular volume. PERCEIVED SCHOOL CLIMATE, PARENTAL MONITORING AND CYBERBULLYING AMONG ADOLESCENTS

The aim of this research was to find out the connection between the perceived school climate, parental monitoring and cyberbullying among adolescents, and whether there were differences in these variables between two adolescent age groups. It was examined how the dimensions of the perceived school climate and parental monitoring explain the adolescents’ experience of cyber victims and cyberbullies.  A total of 309 Latvian students from grades 5 to 12 (200 respondents from grades 5-9 and 109 respondents from grades 10-12) participated in the research. Bakalaura darba tēma: “Jauniešu personības iezīmju un sociāli emocionālās kompetence saistība.” Pētījuma mērķis bija teorētiski un praktiski izpētīt un noskaidrot personības iezīmju un sociāli emocionālās kompetences savstarpējo saistība jauniešu vecuma grupā. Pētījuma jautājums: vai pastāv statistiski nozīmīgas saistības starp personības iezīmēm un sociāli emocionālo kompetenci jauniešu vecuma grupā? Metode: kvantitatīvais pētījums, kurā piedalījās 50-klašu skolēni no dažiem Latvijas skolām.
